How we protect your privacy and handle your data
Last updated: November 2025
XCleaner is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data and only what is necessary for the app to function properly. Your files and personal information remain completely private.
XCleaner only collects anonymous usage statistics to improve the app. This includes:
XCleaner never reads, stores, or transmits the contents of your personal files. We only scan file metadata (names, sizes, dates) to identify files that can be safely cleaned.
Anonymous usage data helps us understand which features are most valuable and identify areas for improvement.
If you contact support, we may ask for system information to help troubleshoot issues. This information is only used for support purposes.
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. XCleaner is a paid application with no ads or tracking.
All file scanning and cleaning operations happen locally on your Mac. No files are uploaded to our servers.
Any data transmitted to our servers (like crash reports) uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
Anonymous usage data is retained for analytical purposes and automatically deleted after 2 years.
You can disable anonymous usage reporting in XCleaner's settings at any time.
Contact us if you'd like to know what data we have about your usage or request deletion.
For privacy-related questions, reach out through the Mac App Store or our support channels.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, please contact us.
